A core mission of Rapid City Pennington County Emergency Management is "Preparedness". One of the ways we help the community prepare is with face-to-face interaction at preparedness events in the community.

TRAINING:

  • CERT Classes: We typically offer 2 CERT classes a year for Adults and Teens. Learn more.
  • Emergency Operations Center (EOC): Rapid City - Pennington County Emergency Management maintains a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center located on the first floor of the Pennington County Justice Center. In non-emergency times this room can be used for classes, training, and meetings.
  • The full EOC space contains two sides. When combined, the "East" and "West" provide classroom-style seating for 48 people. Each side offers classroom-style seating for 24 people, a podium, laptop hook-up, LCD projector and screen, Wi-Fi, and floor power outlets for electronic devices. Tables can be reconfigured to accommodate other needs. There is "display" capability for video/TV/computer-based presentations. The space also has an ADA-compliant "Active Listening" system.
  • EOC Room Request Form:​ If you would like to reserve the EOC for a meeting or event related to Emergency Management, please complete the contact form to request use.
**Notice** In an active disaster or emergency, the EOC Full Room and Conference rooms will be used to support disaster operations. Scheduled events may need to be relocated to alternate rooms/and or facilities.
