VA Burial Allowance may help family members cover some of the cost of burial, funeral, and transportation costs for a veteran who has passed away.
If you wish to file for burial reimbursement for a veteran, the following documents are required and should be brought with you to your appointment with a Veterans Service Officer:
- Death certificate
- Itemized PAID receipt from the funeral home for services
- DD214
