All Emergency Services Communication Center 911 phone calls and radio traffic are recorded. 

In accordance with South Dakota codified law, s. 1-27-1.5, entities or individuals other than ESCC user agencies must obtain written authorization of release from the responding agency or a court order signed by a judge, requiring the release of the recorded audio. These requests are subject to a $35/hr charge, one hour minimum, due at release. A $5 audio CD supply fee will also be charged when applicable.
