Pennington County Emergency Services Communications Center is located in Rapid City, South Dakota and proudly serves as the 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the City of Rapid City, Pennington County, and surrounding areas.Since 2001, the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch has formally recognized Pennington County ESCC as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) in Emergency Medical Dispatch. Our high standards of service and training help us carry out our mission of providing excellence in communication, coordination and commitment to our community and our responders.
As our community grows, so do our calls for service. In 2020, we received nearly 297,034 emergency and non-emergency calls for service and 351,259 events for area law enforcement, fire and medical services.
